The University of Southampton is a research-intensive University, with annual research income in excess of £120 million. Research and Innovation Services (RIS) are recruiting a Research Funding Officer in its Research Funding Development team to support that success and to provide academic and research colleagues, expert advice and assistance in research funding (UK/international) and bid support.
We're looking for a dynamic individual to work alongside our Schools and academics in this key position. Of graduate calibre and a proven track-record of making things happen, you'll advise and guide researchers (especially those new to securing external research funding) on the UK research funding landscape, schemes and application process with the view to develop high-quality proposals. Astute and highly motivated, you will call on your project management experience and knowledge of research funding to support Schools in maintaining their track-record in securing research funding. We are interested to hear from individuals with experience in international development funding as well as with understanding of UKRI funding schemes.
For an informal discussion about this post, please contact Mylène Ployaert, Head of Research Funding Development, email: mgsp@soton.ac.uk or Jaydene Witchell, Research Funding Manager, email: J.Witchell@soton.ac.uk.
Our vision and mission at the University of Southampton is to have a community where staff and students feel welcome, supported and valued. The Research & Innovation Services Department is proactive in fostering a culture of inclusion, respect and equality of opportunity. We encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds, with the belief that excellence will be achieved through recognising the value of every individual.
We aim to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
