The role
We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our busy and friendly Planning & BI Team. The role supports the University's operational and strategic planning through the provision of management information and business intelligence. The role focusses on Human Resources related data and analysis.
What will you be doing?
Responsibilities involve the preparation, analysis and reporting on data from a variety of sources, with a specialism in HR. You will liaise with colleagues across Professional Services and develop expertise in both data content and analytical tools.
Important outputs support key University processes. These include developing workforce planning packs for our annual business planning cycle, maintaining and reporting strategic KPIs to our Executive Board and Board of Trustees, preparing data returns to various HE sector bodies, and scheduled and ad-hoc analytical tasks.

You should apply if
- You are enthusiastic, ambitious, keen to work and keen to learn
- You enjoy and have significant experience of working with data, extracting insight and sharing and explaining it to others
- You have a thorough background in organising data and data modelling
- You are technically competent; as a minimum possessing advanced skills in Excel and competent with Power Query. Experience with Power BI and DAX would be desirable.
- You are highly motivated, engaged and able to work independently, while also being a good team player.
- You thrive in a blended working environment, with a mixture of office and home-working and on-line and face-to-face meetings
- Previous experience of working with KPIs or HR systems or data would be desirable
