Are you an experienced and ambitious Research Funding Development Professional looking to further your career in one of the UK's leading research-intensive Universities? Do you have a background in developing and delivering high value and high-quality funding applications that can help us deliver the University's ambitious Strategy?

As Research Funding Manager, you will be responsible for a portfolio of major funders with whom you will develop strategic relations that will inform our research funding strategy and the development of successful bids.

You will be instrumental in proactively managing major funding opportunities across the University to ensure the highest quality applications are submitted. Working closely with the Research Funding Officers and with the Research Finance Hub, you will offer expert professional advice and support to researchers in the identification, development and submission of high-quality research proposals.

You will help shape and progress strategic proposals of significant scope and complexity with involvement from researchers across disciplines and participation from external stakeholders across sectors.

You will develop an excellent knowledge of the strengths of our researchers working within the remit of your key funders and support them in the their applications to increase the size and breadth of our research funding portfolio.

Working with Faculties, you will drive new initiatives to increase the quality of our bids and our success rates. You will also provide strategic advice and support the University and Faculties' senior research management and wider team members within RIS and work collaboratively with other professional teams to deliver a high-quality and customer-focused service.

Research and Innovation Services (RIS) provides expert advice and assistance for research funding and contracts, research integrity and governance, technology transfer and the commercialisation of intellectual property, collaboration with industry, and public engagement with research.
