Description
The Department of Physics & Astronomy in the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences is inviting applications for two Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in experimental condensed-matter physics in the group of Prof. Lian Li at West Virginia University (https://physics.wvu.edu/faculty-and-staff/faculty/lian-li). The main focus of the project will be to study magnetic/topological heterostructures and quantum magnets such as kagome magnets.

Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Physics or related field.
Effective English oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated ability to work effectively with others are required.
Candidates should have experience in experimental condensed-matter physics and/or material science, and should be well versed in MBE growth of quantum materials, and/or characterization of electronic structures using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), and/or low-temperature high-magnetic field scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/S). Facilities available at Prof. Li's lab for this project include:
Scienta DA 30 ARPES system
Unisoku 400mK USM 1300 STM with a 9-2-2 T vector magnet
Omicron low-temperature (5-300K) STM with Q-plus non-contact AFM
Integrated system with in situ sample transfer directly from MBE to STM and ARPES.
