Who We Are:
A recognized leader in heliospheric physics research to advance our knowledge of the solar wind structure and how it interacts with the interstellar medium.
Objectives of this Role:
  • Perform prime analysis on datasets from IBEX, Wind, ACE, MMS, STEREO, Voyager, PSP and SolO to addressing a broad range of heliospheric science topics, including solar wind heating, acceleration, and interactions with interstellar medium.
  • Contribute and interact with Institute Staff engaged in a broad range of observational, computational, and theoretical research in the physics of the solar wind, energetic neutral atoms, shock waves, suprathermal and energetic particles.
  • Disseminate results through active publication in peer-reviewed journals and participation at scientific meetings/conferences. Actively seek funding by responding to relevant solicitations through proposal development as principal and/or co-investigator.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
  • Lead research projects on on various heliospheric physics topics and reduce datasets using robust analysis methods to derive important insights into processes and mechanisms active in the heliosphere.
  • Utilize and develop models relevant to the research topics.
  • Work closely with a team of scientists, engineers, and graduate students while executing fundamental and or applied research on ongoing projects.
  • Attend team meetings to inform the group of progress and results through presentations.
Requirements:
  • Requires a PhD with a 3.00 GPA in Heliospheric physics, Space physics, or related field with related experience
