The Division of Hospital Medicine at Seattle Children's Hospital/University of Washington is seeking a full-time hospitalist to join our faculty as Assistant Professor (WOT) or Associate Professor (WOT) without tenure by reason of funding, on the Clinician-Scholar track. Rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Associate Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The anticipated start date is Spring 2023.

The successful candidate will have duties at Seattle Children's Hospital/University of Washington, School of Medicine. Our career hospitalists have diverse backgrounds and interests, and participate in a variety of quality improvement, patient safety, educational, and faculty development initiatives. Clinician Scholars are expected to participate in scholarly activities including research and publication as an integral part of their job description.

Our hospitalists attend on the General Medicine resident service for 7-day rotations. We provide direct supervision and bedside/didactic teaching of rotating residents and medical students. We also provide 24/7 in-house coverage for the General Medicine non-resident service which also includes daytime supervision and teaching of rotating medical students and advanced practice providers.

All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) degree and US Board certification or US Board eligibility in Hospital Pediatrics and completion of a pediatric residency.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
