Position Summary
Dr. Nicholas Banovich is an Associate Professor in the Integrated Cancer Genomics Division at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) and the Director of TGen's Center for Single Cell and Spatial Multiomics. The Banovich lab is focused on understanding how changes in gene regulation contribute to complex disease. The lab employs functional genomics, computational biology, population genetics, and molecular biology to understand how regulatory changes can alter complex phenotypes.
The Banovich lab is looking for a talented staff computational scientist or postdoctoral researcher to lead the analysis of single cell and spatial genomics data in the area of lung biology and disease. Projects in this space are focused on developmental biology, cell atlasing, and pulmonary fibrosis. This candidate would have the opportunity to lead a subset of projects in this area, working with leading clinical and methods development collaborators. The candidate would also be encouraged to identify and pursue new research areas and ideas. This is a flexible position and we are open to hiring someone to work remotely if they are the right fit.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to take a leadership role in ongoing projects as well as develop new research ideas. Specific duties will include, data analysis, interpretation of results, and presentation of findings and preparation of peer reviewed manuscripts.

At a minimum the candidate will be required to have a PhD in the areas of genetics, biology, or computational biology, and have a demonstrated publication record in the area of genomics.
