The Dedhia lab's mission is to understand and target drivers of therapeutic resistance and metastatic progression in endocrine cancers. We carry out these studies using novel methodologies, such as patient-derived organoids and single cell RNA sequencing in addition to relying on established molecular techniques. We are searching for a driven, independent, and curious senior research associate to champion these innovative translational studies. A successful candidate will have the opportunity to design and lead comprehensive research projects, design and execute experimental plans, and build partnerships with other members of the Center for Cancer Engineering. In the Dedhia lab, we believe impactful research is rewarding and strive to empower and equip members of our team to carry out impactful research.

The Researcher 3 will function as a specialist or technical expert in molecular biology and organoid research. Responsibilities of the Researcher 3 will be to: 1) collaborate with Principal Investigator (PI) to develop, manage and implement research projects; 2) design and conduct complex experiments utilizing cell lines and organoid models; 3) plan and execute advanced molecular biological and biochemical procedures such as cell and organoid culture, realtime PCR, immunofluorescence, immunoblot, ELISA, and cloning techniques; 4) analyze and evaluate experimental data; 5) develop and implements new or revised research methods; 6) assist PI in research & development efforts of new research projects; 7) plan and write abstracts and manuscripts for publication in scientific journals; 8) attend and present research results at national and international scientific conferences and workshops; 9) actively contribute to developing, writing, editing and critiquing research grant proposals; 10) oversee appropriate maintenance of laboratory equipment; and 11) implement laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safety Manual and ensure compliance to local, state and federal laboratory guidelines.

Education/Experience Required:

Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree in biology, biological sciences or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; 5 years of relevant experience required; experience in biological research capacity preferred; experience in a progressively responsible administrative capacity preferred; extensive experience planning & developing projects preferred; extensive knowledge and expertise of cell and organoid culture, realtime PCR, immunofluorescence, immunoblot, and cloning techniques preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

By the start of employment, all newly hired employees must receive at least the first dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of a one-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals who choose a two-dose series vaccination must receive the second dose within 45 days of their start date. Proof of vaccination will be required at time of hire.

Pay Range: $62,700 - 83,600 per year (salary).
