Department Information
The Division of Clinical Pharmacology at Indiana University is seeking a highly motivated individual to support the research lab of our Division Director. Our division conducts groundbreaking translational research in the area of drug discovery and development, drug interactions, and genomic variants that impact therapeutic effectiveness. The multi-disciplinary research includes collaborations through the Indiana University School of Medicine and the broader IU community.

The role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. The role frequently requires the ability to move about the work environment and to position oneself to operate laboratory equipment effectively. The role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary
The approved salary for this position is between $43,680 - $49,920, and will be determined based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience. The approved salary takes into consideration unit funding, individual education and experience level, the typical starting salary for this type of position, and the highest salary we can offer while maintaining internal equity within and throughout our department.

Job Summary
- Conducts tests across a diverse array of assays using laboratory machinery and computer programs.
- Tests and sets up lab equipment.
- Collects data and prepares reports based upon established protocols.
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings.
- Orders, receives, and inventories laboratory supplies.
- Cleans glassware and maintains laboratory work areas.
- Troubleshoots breakdowns, performs preventive maintenance, and calls for repairs as needed.
- Maintains logs and equipment record books.
Qualifications
EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting OR
- Associate degree and 4 years of experience in a laboratory setting
SKILLS

- Experience with mouse breeding, genotyping, and handling
- Cell culture experience
- Molecular biology techniques including real-time PCR and Western Blot
- Experience with flow cytometry
- Experience with mouse surgeries
