Assistant Professor of Finance | University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
The Assistant Professor of Finance tenure track position is a 4/4 teaching load primarily split between teaching introductory and upper-level Finance classes. The Sentry School of Business and Economics strives to match the expertise and interests of faculty with their classes. As such, upper-level Finance courses may include financial planning, corporate finance, insurance, risk management, entrepreneurial finance, or financial analytics, depending on candidate qualifications and interests, and on student needs. Candidates may have the opportunity to teach in the MBA program and may be asked to teach at branch campuses in the surrounding communities of Wausau and Marshfield. Strong candidates will have a demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate level and conduct scholarly research. Although we are a teaching-oriented department, scholarly activity, professional growth, and university service are required. Required Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate (PhD, DBA, etc.) in Finance or in a related field, or ABD with doctorate completed within two years, from an AACSB or equivalently accredited college or university, or other high-quality institution
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level in financial planning, corporate finance, insurance, risk management, entrepreneurial finance, or financial analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct scholarly research.
- Relevant professional experience
