A Molecular Scientist role in Durham, NC is now available through Adecco Medical and Science. In this role, you will support the high throughput cloning pipeline and to assist in the maintenance of microbial collections. As a laboratory assistant, you will be an integral member of the Lead Generation and Optimization team, supporting multiple insect control discovery projects. You will be an active member of a fast-paced, research-focused group, contributing to cross-disciplinary innovation. Please note that this a minimum 6-month contact/temp position starting in January 2023. Shift: Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform culture and maintenance of microbial strains using aseptic technique. Perform plasmid preparations and relevant QC work. Perform PCR, PCR purification, and relevant QC work using high throughput approaches. Assist in high throughput cloning and transformation experiments. Maintain excellent documentation of experiments and contribute to analysis and reporting of data within a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Demonstrate flexibility within a fast-paced work environment, along with an ability to multitask and good communication and organizational skills. Skills:
Experience with molecular biology techniques such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA extraction, cloning, transformation, SDS-PAGE, etc. Competency in aseptic technique and basic microbiology technique. Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines in a biological laboratory environment. Experience troubleshooting laboratory processes and procedures, and knowledge and experience processing samples using automated liquid handling robots a plus. Ability to work independently and multi-task with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Must have a strong work ethic and an ability to quickly learn new laboratory procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail. Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is a plus. Education:
