Princeton UniversityThe Department of Art & Archaeology invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the History of Photography. Applicants from all areas and subfields of the history of photography are encouraged to apply, with special consideration given to applicants with expertise in the history of photography in a global context. The position starts September 2023.

Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching and advising in the applicant's area of expertise as well as more general or thematic courses. Applicants must be able to teach and advise undergraduates and graduate students in the history of photography in the nineteenth century, including its origins in Europe and the United States. Expectations also include interacting broadly with other departments, programs, and initiatives at Princeton and beyond as well as regular interaction and collaboration with the Princeton University Art Museum.
