Overview:
The Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) is looking for an osteopathic physician to teach first, second, and third-year medical students in a discipline-based curriculum on the Middletown NY campus.
Responsibilities:
Collaborating with faculty on the Harlem campus in the development, organization, and delivery of the first, second, and third year OMM curriculum presented simultaneously on both campuses.Commitment to excellence in teachingServe on the administrative committees of the college and expected to already have or to develop scholarly activity that results in peer-reviewed publications
Qualifications:
Degrees/ LicensuresDoctor of Osteopathic Medicine requiredDoctor of Medicine preferred.Preference will be given to those applicants who are board-eligible/board-certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine or who have a certificate of special proficiency in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (C-SPOMM)Knowledge/ Skills/ AbilitiesDemonstrate the potential for exceptional teaching at the medical school or graduate level in the areas mentioned in the job responsibilities sectionDemonstrate potential for researchWork well with the rest of faculty teamClear communicatorHave relevant content and clinical expertiseHave a passion for teaching osteopathic principles and techniques at the undergraduate medical education level.Basic computer skills supporting the proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite (eg PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel) as well as software used to prepare written exams and Learning Management Systems.TravelInfrequent travel to the branch campus location in Manhattan, NYTravel to professional academic conferences as approved by the Department Chair. Physical DemandsAble to lift up to 5 lbs
