Full Time Faculty: Assistant Professor of Biochemistry

Position Description:
The Multnomah University Department of Natural Sciences invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor of Biochemistry with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2023. This is a full-time faculty position with a course load of 24 credit hours per year in the traditional, on-campus undergraduate environment. The candidate will be expected to teach a two-semester General Chemistry sequence, along with upper-level courses in the biology area, which may include Organic Chemistry I, Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, and other courses of interest. The ability to teach physics is a plus. The candidate should also be a practicing Christian with an interest in integrating their faith with their course teaching. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, mentoring, and university service.
Minimum Requirements:
A doctorate-level degree (ABD will be considered) in biochemistry, molecular biology in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field, with documented teaching experience at the college level. Support of the University mission and doctrinal statement is required. The preferred candidate will have a strong interest in faith integration. Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.

Compensation commensurate with education and experience.
