Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center - Biomedical Engineer Faculty Position

Employer
National Medical Association
Location
Chicago, IL
Closing date

Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Biomedical Engineer in the department of Rush's Alzheimer's Disease Center.

The Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center (RADC) is one of 33 Alzheimer's disease centers in the U.S. designated and funded by the National Institute on Aging. It is part of Rush University Medical Center , a leading academic medical center in downtown Chicago. The RADC is a large, free-standing, multidisciplinary center which conducts a wide range of research studies including community-based cohort studies that are integrated with autopsies and collection of ADRD pathologies and multilevel omics and clinical trials. Since its inception, RADC investigators have embraced cutting-edge technologies to quantify and characterize a wide range of human behaviors in older adults. These efforts have yielded novel quantitative behavioral metrics that advance aging research and the competitiveness of RADC grant applications. Our success has increased the need for additional faculty and expertise to manage data collection and extraction of metrics of an increasingly broad range of behaviors that can be remotely recorded during daily living in the community-setting from participants in RADC cohort studies. We are looking to fill a new faculty position. The position would work best with an individual with a PhD +/- MD with background in biomedical engineering, computers and statistics. Postdoctoral training or research experience focusing on the use of biomedical devices for studying aging is preferred. Faculty level would be commensurate with past experience ranging from Instructor to Professor.
