A Research and Development Associate role in Durham, NC is now available through Adecco Medical and Science. In this role, you will participate in research and development activities. This is a pure research position - looking for someone with genomics and microbiology experience. It is also a very analytical, hands-on, bench-instrument role working with live samples processed to bacteria, fungi, and microorganisms.
Please note that this a minimum 6-month+ contact/temp position starting in March 2023. The work hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm.
Job Responsibilities:
Utilizes established mathematical and scientific techniques to compile and analyze data. Writes technical reports detailing procedures, outcomes, and observations. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Coordinate with other functions to drive innovation Direct tactical contribution in defining the direction of R&D operational plans. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monitor and control expenditures. Provide in depth expert advice for creating and implementing research/development programs and procedures to ensure a business benefit. Lead key projects across the area. Provide high level scientific knowledge and insight to the research, development and business teams on technical aspects in the area of expertise.
Minimum BS Degree in biology or related field - prefer MS Degree or PhD candidates. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Experience with managing a R&D group within a specialized area with several reporting lines. Requires knowledge and understanding within several relevant areas which would typically be gained through minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience.
