Position: RN/Registered Nurse, Emergency Department ER, Full Time, Days
Location: University Kansas Health System - St. Francis (Main Campus)
Registered Nurses function under the direction of the Nurse Director/Manager and is responsible for coordination of safe patient care delivery for specified and diverse patient populations. The RN assesses patient/family needs, develops and prioritizes patient goals, evaluates care delivery, and continually revised the plan of care to meet the biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs of the patient/family. The RN Delegates care as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes. The RN adheres to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities
Registered Nurse (RN) duties include:
The overall direction and supervision of all patient care during his/her shift.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to carry out the nursing process when providing patient care.
Satisfies the established standards of the nursing practice.
Supervises and delegates patient care tasks to CNAs and other patient care team members.
Promotes teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments.
Perform other duties as assigned
Accountable for self and self-actions:
Engages in self-evaluation of practice and takes action to improve knowledge and skills. Promotes consensus building and applies techniques of conflict resolution and conduct improvement.
Retains accountability for quality of care given to the patient.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Associates/Bachelor degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Current Kansas RN licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- At least one year recent experience in a similar healthcare setting, preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and EPIC software; preferred.
