Objectives of this Role:
- Support development and ion calibration efforts for one or several of the plasma instrument project currently under development.
- Conduct, present, and publish research relevant to the science objectives of the MMS mission.
- Actively seek internal and external funding by responding to relevant solicitations through proposal development as principal and/or co-investigator.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Support calibration for plasma instrument flight projects, working closely with a team of scientists and engineers.
- Analyze instrument data and compare instrument performance to requirements.
- Conduct data analysis research relevant to the MMS mission.
- Publish scientific results in peer-review journals.
- Participate in team meetings and give presentations at professional meetings.
- Lead and/or assist in proposal development.
Requirements:
- Requires a PhD with a 3.00 GPA in Space Physics, Physics, Astronomy, Planetary Science, Applied or Engineering Physics, or related field
- 0+ years: Demonstration of independent research is required
- Lab experience, scientific data analysis experience, and presentation skills are beneficial
