The Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a Professor of Instruction (open rank) to participate and lead in the delivery of our integrated medical curriculum on our Cleveland, Ohio Campus. This is a teaching intensive position with 80% teaching and 20% service. We seek a multidisciplinary biochemist whose primary responsibility is to participate in team-based teaching of problem-based and flipped classroom learning of medical biochemistry, human genetics, nutrition, and cell and molecular biology to osteopathic medical students. Applicants with multidisciplinary experience are highly desirable. The selected candidate will join a highly collegial group of diverse faculty in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, which will allow the successful candidate to gain training and expertise in additional disciplines.

The primary responsibilities will be to teach biochemistry in an integrative team-based teaching and learning environment, including large group interactive learning sessions, collaborate closely with faculty members across the three Heritage College campuses to develop and lead curricular content (i.e., learning objectives, team-based learning sessions, resources, assessments), participate in small group coaching and mentoring of osteopathic medical students, provide service to the college such as interviewing prospective candidates for admissions to the Heritage College, participate in college-planned outreach activities, and serve as faculty representative to a student organization(s), etc.

This faculty position is a non-tenure track, 11-month position based on our Cleveland, Ohio campus beginning August 1, 2023. The annual 11-month appointment period runs from August 1 through June 30. Salary will be commensurate with rank and experience and accompanied by excellent health and educational benefits for both the employee and eligible dependents.

Applicants must have a minimum of a Doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D., DO, MD) or ABD with degree completion no later than May 31, 2023, with teaching experience in health sciences academic environments.
