Research Assistant I Mammalian Cell Culture Greenfield Indiana

In this position you'll play a key role in the team dedicated to growing cells for in vivo studies

Essential Job Duties:

♦ General mammalian cell tissue culture procedures including daily care and maintenance, freezing and thawing and cell enumeration.
♦ In Vitro production including cell expansion, viability estimation, cryo-preservation and record keeping.
♦ Follow all established Quality Assurance procedures including environmental checks and recordings, equipment maintenance and use logs and documentation of all procedures.
♦ Use conventional laboratory techniques (western blots, ELISA, etc.) for characterization of cell lines for both growth properties and target expression. Follow procedural SOP's.
♦ Prepare media and other reagents or solutions.
♦ Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

♦ Contribute to maintaining Lab and equipment cleanliness.
♦ Help maintain supply inventory

♦ Follow all established safety standards for the department.

Experience, Education and Qualifications

Prefer a Bachelor of Science in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or closely related field. Experience may be used in lieu of education. Relevant college level science courses with laboratory component, highly prefer candidate with 1+ years of experience working with mammalian cell cultures.

Computer skills for documentation, calculations and communication.
Good communication skills with high degree of professionalism.
Attention to detail and understanding of quality principles.

Starting Pay rate typically $22 per hour, pay rate may be higher for strong related experience.

This is a full time position that works day time hours Monday-Friday, occasionally there may be work on the weekend.
