Saint-Gobain Medical is a leader with material expertise in silicone, thermoplastic elastomers and fluoropolymers and processing expertise in molding, extrusion and custom fabrication for medical OEMs. Leading the way through global resources, technological and regulatory expertise, the medical team develops solutions for drug delivery, cardiology, diabetics, nephrology, endoscopy, ophthalmology and surgical markets.

We are looking for a driven, talented, and experienced leader to join our R&D management team and lead a technical group for both our Medical and Electronics businesses. The individual will work closely with the business management and R&D leadership to develop and implement an R&D strategy, and to lead a team to develop new technologies, product innovation, support customer applications development and enable thought leadership in the market.

The incumbent will lead cross functional teams in project planning and managing (either directly or indirectly) others to execute and deliver project objectives and impact business results. The candidate will collaborate effectively with a broad range of internal functions including central R&D colleagues, Application Engineering, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory and Manufacturing. External collaborations include partnering with end users, customers and technology providers. Candidate is also expected to play key role in driving the R&D portfolio, proposing new technology platforms and programs vital to the business growth of the group. Further the candidate will be responsible for developing direct reports and others within the group.

  • Works closely with the business, to impact business growth and thought leadership in the Medical and Electronics market.
  • Provides technology leadership to associates and colleagues throughout business.
  • Builds and develops a high caliber technical team.
  • Works with the business and our customers to build an exciting R&D portfolio across new materials, new process and new application procedures and test methods.
  • Manages Medical and Electronics Global Innovation portfolio and ensures on time and on budget delivery.
  • Enables documentation to meet regulatory requirements and Quality standards.
  • Demonstrates open and collaborative approach in all areas of responsibility.
  • Works with IP Attorney and key R&D and business leadership to manage the IP portfolio.
  • Focuses on Safety and Risks Reduction are a first priority in every project


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS Degree with a minimum of 18+ years' experience, or MS with 13+ years of experience, or PhD with 9+ years' experience plus demonstrated technical judgment/accomplishments.
  • 5+ years of R&D team and people management
  • Strong background in materials science and polymeric materials.
  • Experience in medical, pharmaceutical or life science fields is strongly desired
