o Effectively teach mechanical engineering courses in a wide variety Mechanical Engineering topics
o Coordinate curriculum changes across the disciplines, as well as other colleges/departments at the university.
o Contribute to efforts for continuous improvement of the program as defined by ABET
o Encourage and participate in engineering service projects (i.e. Engineering Missions)

- Earned doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely aligned engineering discipline.
- Teaching experience is required, along with experience managing multi-discipline courses and/or projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with faculty, staff and students.
- A committed believer in Jesus Christ and active in the life of the church.
- Committed to the primary mission of Lipscomb University: the integration of Christian faith and practice with academic excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Administrative
- Supervise staff and student workers associated with College-wide efforts
- Approve Expenditures for Machine Shop and Labs
- Assist in recruiting students
- Assist in promoting the College of Engineering
- Academics - Teaching is our primary mission:
o Effectively teach mechanical engineering courses in a wide variety Mechanical Engineering topics
o Coordinate curriculum changes across the disciplines, as well as other colleges/departments at the university.
o Contribute to efforts for continuous improvement of the program as defined by ABET
- Coordinate Networking and Professional Development for students
- Service is an integral part of the College of Engineering culture:
o Encourage and participate in engineering service projects (i.e. Engineering Missions)
- Participate in faculty committees and meetings
- Serve as advisor to student professional groups of competition teams.
- Scholarly Activity is encouraged and expected:
- Guide the development of instructional methods that reflect current best practices in engineering pedagogy
- Encourage faculty to seek opportunities to participate in funded research as relevant to the college's mission and culture (see above bullets)
- Provide support and guidance for the professional development of both faculty and students.
