We are seeking an experienced laboratory scientist to join our exceptional in-vitro team in Madison, WI as a Research Assistant!

What you will be doing:

You will be a key member in our in-vitro cell culture lab focusing on managing multiple projects, working with multiple cells lines, while surrounded by a highly collaborative team environment.
  • Conduct cell plating, feeding, and harvesting of multiple cell lines.
  • Perform critical assays in support of client requested study designs.
  • Sets up and performs a variety of analyses using appropriate instrumentation with routine and non-routine methods.
  • Critically review study protocol in primary area of work and apply requirements to in-lab methodology.
  • Can interpret study results and assess acceptability of data. Provides data review summaries to the study team.
  • Participates/leads study meetings including kick-offs, scheduling, status updates, and debriefs.
  • Maintains study documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Reviews own work for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment.
  • Deliver results within agreed timeframe, whilst recognizing changes in priorities
  • Routinely support studies in non-primary area of work
  • Ability to write, review and revise standard SOPs related to primary area of work.
  • Ability to conduct most processes/task in support of broad portfolio of study types
  • Proficient in use of department specific software
  • Participate in QC review of selected routine data and methodology section within reports within scope of current role
  • Ability to prepare results and presentations based on the work performed
  • Evaluates data for experiment modification and contribute to report preparation/review
  • Participate in method development and validation projects
  • Maintains a clean and safe laboratory work environment and perform routine maintenance.

Education/Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or an equivalent scientific discipline. PhD or Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience may be substituted for education.

Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a cell lab/cell culture setting.
  • Significant experience using standard chemistry lab equipment including pipettes, centrifuges, balances, etc.
  • Experience using AB Sciex and/or Agilent QQQ mass spec platforms preferred.
  • High resolution mass spec (HRMS) experience is a plus.
  • Additional experience with drug-drug interaction studies, HPLC, and PCR analytical techniques is a plus but not required
  • Experience performing in vitro drug-drug interaction (DDI) assays including cytochrome P450 inhibition and/or induction, CYP phenotyping, transporters, plasma-protein binding, blood-plasma partitioning and metabolic stability is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Experience using Hamilton liquid handling system (Starlet, Microlab Star, etc.) platform is preferred, but not necessary.
  • Experience working with radiolabeled isotopes is a plus.
