The Role:

Central Washington University is taking applications for a position as Clinical Faculty and Assistant Director of CWU's recently established Center for Financial Planning and Well-Being, (CFPW). This is a non-tenure track position. This individual will lead the Center's Money Savvy Wildcats (MSW) program which will brings financial education and peer coaching to students and staff across CWU locations. Our new colleague can expect to spend 66% of their time on Money Savvy Wildcats development and growth and 33% of their time (one course per quarter) teaching personal finance.

The Assistant Director role is responsible for developing content, delivering training and supervising student coaches (Money Savvy Wildcats) as they provide services to their colleagues. Services include individual coaching and group workshops. MSW will focus on topics critical in building awareness and adopting behaviors that improve financial well-being during their time at Central and after graduation.

Minimum Qualifications

A Master's degree or above in education, business, or related field.
Experience in roles related to financial services.
At least two years of supervisory experience with a strong understand of performance management.

Preferred Qualifications

Academic credentials relevant to personal finance, financial planning, teaching other relevant area of education. A minimum Master-level education is required for consideration as a Clinical Faculty.
AFC® CFP® or other applicable certifications
Work experience in a higher education setting
Experience with student engagement, mentoring or advising
A record of promoting inclusivity in classrooms and academic work environments.
Experience or interest in mentoring students from a variety of backgrounds.
Teaching, or service that demonstrates an ability to contribute to CWU's commitment to inclusion and diversity.

Pay & Work Schedule

Pay: Commensurate with education and experience $70,000 - $90,000 annually

Schedule/Hours: Full time, non-tenure track, 11-month Appointment. Sept 1 - July 31. Central Washington University is on the quarter system.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer work station for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required. * Work may involve outreach to student communities and others in the CWU community as well as members of communities adjacent to CWU teaching locations.
