Joyce University is currently looking for a Regional Assistant Director of Nursing Faculty (ADN) who is responsible to help ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the nursing program at clinical sites. This position will be located in the Boise, Idaho Metro Area. The responsibilities include: supporting and advancing clinical education through teaching and mentoring students, collaborating with clinical partners, and helping to develop clinical site relationships. The Regional ADN is knowledgeable of clinical program curriculum and requirements and helps organize multiple clinical programs while meeting program deadlines. The ADN will work with faculty who interface with clinical education, education, programs, training, certification, and research publications. The Regional ADN is responsible for providing input in the areas of staffing, scheduling, supporting, and evaluating faculty, for the appropriate direction of student inquiries, and for the individual and collective professional development for nursing programs. The Regional Assistant Director of Nursing Faculty has authority to guide employees and to achieve and maintain standards of excellence in teaching to ensure students derive the most optimal benefits from each learning experience. The Regional ADN will demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, advanced computer skills, advanced clinical skills, and the ability to interact professionally with a variety of people.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide clinical education in a variety of settings throughout all semesters of the nursing program (rehab and long-term care, behavioral health, acute care, critical care, women's health)
  • Assist students with physical assessments, clinical judgement, medication administration and clinical skills
  • Helps develop and maintain relationships with clinical partners.
  • Coordinate and schedule clinical opportunities
  • Oversee clinical instructors as cohort increases
  • Provide education through virtual clinical or skill opportunities as needed
  • Assists in the evaluation of student progress throughout clinical experiences. Monitors and reports on at-risk students.
  • Accurately calculate and report student performance and attendance in a timely manner
  • Maintain evidence of professional growth including membership and participation in professional organizations, continuing education, concurrent related practice experience, educational research, and an awareness of current practice standards
  • Attend Faculty/Committee meetings, pinning, graduation, and other college events
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement and professional development activities to enhance the teaching-learning process and provide evidence of participation to the HR Generalist
  • Assist in compilation of statistical data and other information as requested for accreditation and other organizational needs
  • Utilize instructional methods that accommodate various learning modes of students
  • Identify and remediate behavioral and academic deficiencies
  • Submit suggestions and supportive data for improving curriculum
  • Maintain integrity of curricular offerings
  • Develops relevant educational materials and presentations.
  • Participate on the hiring team for faculty
  • Provide input for the faculty assignments each term
  • Plan and participate in regularly scheduled faculty development meetings
  • Evaluate performance of faculty members as it pertains to their professional development and student engagement using observations and relevant data such as end of course surveys and course pass rates
  • Conduct faculty semester reviews
  • Conduct faculty annual reviews and create an individual annual faculty professional development plan
  • Provide input for departmental succession planning
  • Successfully represent the University and nursing programs to state and national regulatory and accreditation agencies
  • Assist in maintaining affiliation with American Heart Association and oversee the organization and delivery of class offerings for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support as well as Instructor certification in all of those courses
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

License: Registered Nurse in the State of Utah and Regional Location (Required)

Education: Master's Degree in Nursing (Required)

Experience: 5 or more years Nursing clinical experience

Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers Instructor (Required after 6 months of employment)

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Department - Academics/Nursing

Primary Manager - Program Chair of Nursing Clinical Education

Secondary Manager - Dean of Nursing

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Location: Regional site

Employment Status: Full time

Hours of Employment: Minimum 40+ hrs./week; Mon-Fri, with occasional evenings and weekends

Travel: 75%
