Invasive Cardiology - Electrophysiology Laboratory RN As an Invasive Cardiology EP lab nurse, you will work in our Electrophysiology lab and Cardiac device implant suite (OR-7). You will be part of a high functioning team that consists of skilled technicians, expert physicians & fellows. The UVM Medical Center Cardiology department strives to be on the leading edge of technology. Our RNs in Invasive Cardiology EP lab are responsible for providing direct care to:
  • Of patient during implantation of cardiac devices (pacemakers, Implantable defibrillators and loop recorders), ablations procedures, Watchman, and other cardiac electrophysiology procedure.
  • Patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, valve disease and arrhythmias.
Our nurses are provided with continual education through frequent educational programs, access & training to the newest technology and innovations, extensive hands-on training, and educational conferences. Our nurses also have the opportunity to advance through the Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program (CARP). JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides professional nursing care to patients in varying state of health and illness by assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care. The Staff Nurse II functions as an essential member of nursing and multidisciplinary teams, providing direct patient care, instruction, and preparation for continuing care after discharge. May take charge as operational need allows. EDUCATION: Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required. The University of Vermont Medical Center is moving toward an all Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) workforce. All external candidates hired into, or current employees promoted to, a RN position will be required to obtain their BSN as outlined in the terms of their offer letter. EXPERIENCE : Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit. Greater than one year of experience.
