It's an exciting time to be at Hanover College! We have an open position for a full-time core faculty member with content expertise preferably in any of the following content areas: Orthopedic/Pediatric/Cardiovascular-Pulmonary physical therapy. This is a 12-month non-tenured faculty appointment at the level of Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate, or Clinical Professor for the hybrid Doctor of Physical (DPT) Program. The accelerated two-year DPT program combines online and on-campus activities that allow faculty members to live remotely yet travel to Hanover College or Southern Indiana for designated periods each semester. The clinical track responsibilities include teaching, student advising, service, scholarship, and professional development.

The search committee plans to initiate interviews beginning in March 2023. The anticipated target start date for this position is July 2023. Applications may be reviewed by the search committee until the position is filled.

Teaching and Education Responsibilities

Teach courses as agreed upon with the DPT Program Director;
Develop and annually review course syllabi, update as appropriate;
Select appropriate instructional methods;
Develop course materials with integration of online resources;
Request necessary course equipment, materials, and/or supplies;
Plan and present course content;
Arrange and coordinate guest speakers with approval;
Supervise and coordinate course adjuncts;
Complete and return final grades within program deadlines;
Participate in course assessment and evaluation;
Update course content, teaching methods, and materials as needed;
Seek annual training for online instructional teaching methods;
Participate in advising program;
Maintain regular virtual office hours;

Essential tasks and functions

The faculty member must possess an active physical therapy license and eligibility for licensure in the state of Indiana. In addition, the faculty member must demonstrate the following knowledge, skill and ability or be able to explain and demonstrate that the faculty member can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skill and ability.

Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the Core Values of the Physical Therapy profession;
Demonstrates knowledge, skill, and expertise in the area of teaching;
Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and professionally both written and orally, both online and in-person;
Demonstrates the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, including students, administration, faculty and staff;
Demonstrates the ability to handle detail-oriented assignments and maintain confidentiality (FERPA);
Demonstrates the ability to handle a wide range of responsibilities in the DPT Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Earned terminal academic doctorate in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities, OR Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (or tDPT) with preferred ABPTS specialization in a discipline appropriate for teaching responsibilities or certification credentials appropriate for his/her teaching responsibilities;
Understanding of higher education and contemporary clinical practice appropriate for leadership in physical therapy clinical education;
Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues affecting didactic and clinical education, students, and the profession of physical therapy;
Licensed or eligible for licensure in Indiana or the state of residence;
Active in professional activities at local, state, and/or national levels;
Experience consistent with Hanover College System for Faculty Rank.
Successful candidates must have experience and demonstrate a commitment to working with diverse student and community populations.
