The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for up to three full-time Lab Instructors, each on an 8-month basis, with an anticipated start date of 28 August 2023. The positions are outside of the tenure stream, subject to annual review, and entail teaching four sections each term of introductory authentic research laboratory courses. Minimum qualifications are an MS degree in biology or related field with some teaching experience; preferred qualifications are publication of post-graduate research work or a PhD in the biological sciences, ability to also teach microbiology or physiology lab courses, formal training in teaching, experience as sole instructor of a laboratory course, and experience teaching an authentic-research laboratory course. Teaching evening sections may be needed. Lab Instructors must be able to participate in on-campus activities in person.
