We seek a broadly trained biologist with specialization in neurobiology, including but not limited to neurophysiology. The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and an equally strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and student-centered pedagogical approaches. Documentation of the candidate's commitment to equity in education must be included in the application materials.

The position carries a three-course load each semester as follows, in the fall semester: an upper-level seminar course on topics in neuropathology, such as neuropathology or neurodevelopment, and an upper-level neurophysiology course with an accompanying lab; in the spring semester (tentatively): two sections of a course-based undergraduate research experience lab for first-year students and a lab section in our biology core course sequence. The candidate may also have the possibility of support for involving undergraduates in their own research. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. or be ABD at the time of appointment and have relevant teaching experience or a demonstrated commitment to effective teaching.

Applications should include 1) a cover letter that includes a brief description of research expertise, 2) curriculum vitae, 3) a teaching statement that includes a brief description of proposed courses (either new or existing), 4) a statement on diversity and equity that addresses the applicant's experience with and commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment, and 5) the names and contact information for three people who can, upon our request, send us confidential letters of recommendation. Applications will only be accepted through Bucknell's online career center (careers.bucknell.edu). Review of applications will begin mid-June 2022, and the search will remain open until the position is filled. Questions about the position should be directed to Le Paliulis , Professor of Biology.
