The Medical Science Liaison will serve as a liaison to the medical/scientific community and will be responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with allergy medical experts within the specified geographic area of coverage. This position will cover KY/S. IN/TN/MS. The preferred location for the successful candidate to reside would be in the Louisville, KY area.

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
•Ensure the appropriate dissemination of clinical and scientific information regarding marketed and pipeline compounds in a timely, ethical and customer-focused manner.
•Implement clinical and educational strategies in collaboration with other Novartis colleagues for designated customers that include potential clinical trial site placement and sponsorships.
•Work to pair our key customer's educational and research needs with available Novartis resources and will provide the latest emerging data in response to specific healthcare professional inquiries.
•Engage with Medical Experts (MEs) to educate on medical/scientific information and report impactful insights
•Ensure appropriate identification/mapping of MEs/ Key Accounts including identification of opportunities to involve MEs when a specific medical need is identified to provide support
•Develop/execute ME engagement plans to effectively prioritize and strategically engage MEs aligned with strategy
•MSL Associate Director is expected to have consistent local, regional (within specified territory) impact with a solutions-oriented approach in identifying big picture needs.
•Respond to unsolicited requests for information from MEs
•Support Novartis clinical research programs, optimize trial execution and provide scientific education support to study sites in collaboration with clinical operations.
•Provide expert disease area/ product training, serve as a medical resource to field colleagues, actively coach/mentor others
•The MSL Associate Director is expected to demonstrate strong strategic thinking and have an enterprise-wide mindset. He/she should be viewed as an established MSL leader and act as a mentor/coach to colleagues.
•The MSL Associate Director should have strong influencing skills and tangible examples of territory impact. This individual is expected to support and inspire colleagues and serve as a positive change agent.
•Importantly, the MSL Associate Director contributes to building high performing teams

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between: MSL, AD: $174,400 - $261,600; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Terminal degree (MD, PhD or PharmD) or equivalent experience is preferred.
• MSL, Associate Director: 3+ years’ experience
• Field Medical position within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred
• Previous experience in Allergy / Immunology is strongly preferred
• Strong clinical knowledge including pharmacotherapy, treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, medical expert engagement strategies, and FDA promotional guidelines, regulations, and ethical guidelines applied to the pharmaceutical industry is required
• Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and manage time efficiently
