    Essential Functions

    The Department of Public Health at The University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for an Lecturer/Senior Lecturer.     Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses during fall and spring semesters. Course instruction could include face-to-face instruction, hybrid and online formats and will be determined based on department need. Face-to-face instruction will be required if allowed by safety protocols
  • Engagement in service related to undergraduate students potentially including curricular requirements, competency development, resource needs, program evaluation, and student assessment
  • Anticipated workload distribution: 80% teaching and 20% service
  • Other duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications
    • Master's degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Health Education, Epidemiology, Health Communication or related field
    • Previous teaching or facilitation experience, ideally at an institution of higher education
    • Successful candidates must demonstrate their ability to work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of diverse urban populations and support the University's commitment to thrive as a Hispanic Serving Institution and a model for student success.

      Preferred Qualifications
      • Two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level
      • Doctorate in Public Health, Health Promotion, Health Education, Epidemiology, Health Communication, or related field

        Working Conditions

        This position will be primarily located:

        On Campus: Primary work location will be on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.

        • UTSA is a tobacco free campus.
        • This is a security sensitive position. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.
        • Applicants selected must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States by time of hire.
        • Start date is Fall Semester 2023. This will be a 9-month fixed-term track faculty appointment (i.e., non-tenure track). Initial contract length will be negotiated with the final candidate and can be renewed based on annual review.
