ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Medical Director, Global Medical Lead, Early Oncology Pipeline (GML-EOP) serves (in conjunction with their EOP Medical colleagues) as the internal and external medical expert for the Pfizer Oncology research and development portfolio (their part of the portfolio as business requirements dictate) , working closely with and giving medical input to early commercial development and research and development colleagues in collaboration with cross functional stakeholders as well as serving as expert and point of contact for external stakeholders including phase I investigators, key opinion leaders, research organizations, and other collaborators such as 3rd party companies. The GML-EOP reports to the VP Medical Franchise Head, Precision Medicine & EOP

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The GML-EOP informs development plans in collaboration with cross functional colleagues to develop perspectives on future treatment landscapes, unmet need, inform early signs of efficacy endpoints, epidemiology of disease conditions or biomarkers for prioritized programs in their part of the portfolio.
  • Acts as a liaison to engage franchise MA SMEs for programs that are within franchise activity.
  • Partners with early commercial development to deliver the target product profile and medical differentiation index assessment
  • Provides medical perspectives to BU leadership on early asset topics
  • Responsible for leading insight gathering via advisory boards, external facing medical colleague strategic insight gathering and landscape assessment for prioritized programs prior to DP3, including the integrated Evidence Plan.
  • In collaboration with the R&D teams and publications Lead, the GML-EOP supports planning and execution of publications out of the early development program prior to DP3.
  • The GML-EOP directs the development of early asset materials for external facing medical colleagues
  • Directs development of internal resources regarding early assets and provides medical internal education.
  • The GML-EOP will attend oncology medical congresses, interact with key investigators and review literature, focusing on emerging data in MOAs relevant to our early development portfolio and provide insights to inform on the development strategy
  • Acts to aid in development of Phase I investigator networks


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • Holds an MD/DO degree and has experience in clinical development and clinical care with extensive oncology basic science, clinical and medical knowledge
  • 5+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry, experience in Medical Affairs strongly preferred
  • Emotional intelligence as demonstrated by success in matrix environments and change agility
  • Proven ability to influence without authority demonstrated by impactful contributions in senior roles
  • Proven ability to synthesize volumes of information and communicate complex scientific ideas concisely in oral and written form
  • Experience with drug safety and benefit /risk assessment
  • Global experience and proven ability to partner cross culturally/regionally
  • In-depth understanding of drug development including study methodology, protocol design, safety evaluation, and data analysis
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $246,400.00 to $410,600.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.

Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
