Position Summary An Immediate post-doctoral position is available to study the effect of alcohol on liver-gut-adipose axes. To model these organ interplay communications, we will use in vivo rodent models of alcohol-induced organ injury in wildtype and transgenic models and in vitro approaches culturing hepatocytes, non-parenchymal liver cells, adipocytes, intestinal epithelial cells and organoids. The candidate needs to be proficient with handling rats and mice. Candidates will be involved in collection, analysis and interpretation of experimental data; presentation of data at national meetings; manuscript preparation, and grant writing.
Required Qualifications
Candidate must possess a PhD degree and have expertise in cell culture and animal work (including breeding, gavaging, ip/iv injections/blood collections), western blot analysis, molecular biology techniques, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy and other biochemical procedures. Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently and as a part of a team, working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Image and Statistical analysis software is required.
Candidate should have first author publications in peer-reviewed journals and should have the ability to write research papers and grants.
