As a recognized leader in space science research and spacecraft instrumentation, avionics, and electronics, SwRI helps to reveal the secrets of our solar system and the universe.
Objectives of this Role:
- Support spacecraft instrumentation.
- Participate in spacecraft data analysis.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Participate in and carry out original research in experimental space physics, data analysis, and supporting laboratory experiments.
- Support the development, testing, and calibration of energetic neutral atom and plasma instruments to be flown on upcoming heliophysics or planetary missions.
- Interact with SwRI Staff engaged in a broad range of observational, computational, and theoretical research in the physics of the solar wind, energetic neutral atoms, suprathermal and energetic particles.
- Publish original research and results in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Requirements:
- Requires an PhD in Space Science.
- 0 years: Experience in experimental physics.
- 0 years: Ability to program and utilize software tools such as Python, Java, C, SIMION, MATLAB, Mathematica, LabView, GRASP & CHAMP.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
Special Requirements:
This is a 1 year limited term assignment.
