This tenure-track position requires significant contact with students, faculty, social work & human service organizations, and administrative offices to ensure that each Mount Mary University student receives quality fieldwork education. The position provides 75% teaching in social work courses related to fieldwork or other courses consistent with practice experience and 25% fieldwork responsibilities in the BSW program, with the possibility of responsibilities in a future MSW program.Primary Responsibilities:Teach courses related to fieldwork preparation and experiences
  • Curriculum development and revision
Serve as a resource for faculty members and other program areasServe on faculty assembly and All-University committeesProvide service to the institution and the communityEngage in ongoing scholarship and professional activity (research, publications, presentations)Advise students
  • Secure and maintain junior and senior-level fieldwork sites for social work students
  • Prepare students for fieldwork placements
  • Establish and maintain currency of fieldwork contracts and other documents
  • Follow up with agency field instructors to monitor student progress
  • Visit fieldwork sites as needed to monitor student progress and/or develop new field sites
  • Maintain compliance with CSWE accreditation standards for fieldwork
Complete annual data collection and dissemination of CSWE competency benchmarksPossibility of responsibilities in a future MSW programPerform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assignedSkills and Experience:
  • Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program (Ph.D./DSW preferred)
  • Previous teaching experience in undergraduate social work; will also consider other relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of established professional code of ethics and best practices
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills including the ability to work with diverse groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of professional and community groups
