The Associate Director for Research Development will play a key role providing the leadership and coordination necessary to develop multi-investigator and multi-institutional proposals for large research initiatives. They will have a deep understanding of federal and foundation sources of funding for different areas of research, as well as of the different programs that support specific areas of research and their requirements. They will also use data analytics to initiate and nurture critical research partnerships and identify faculty for key leadership or professional awards. This individual will be a key player in the development of strategic resources, services and training materials to help faculty increase their success in applying for large, multi-investigator and multi-institutional proposals. Essential Functions include proposal development, data analytics, limited submissions, and service development and implementation. This position will report to the Assistant Vice President and Assistant Provost for Research Development and PhD & Postdoctoral Affairs).
Required Skills
  • A cover letter is required for consideration.
  • Masters Degree in statistics, quantitative social science, institutional research, data analytics, computer science or related analytical field with minimum of 5-8 years of related work experience.
  • PhD degree preferred with 3-5 years prior experience.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, SQL, SPSS) currently used in data analytics, in conjunction with data visualization software (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Strong writing skills and prior proposal submission and/or development experience preferred.
  • Ability to serve as a connector and collaborator with a wide range of faculty and with members of the wider Research team.
