What You Will Achieve

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Associate Scientist to join the Strain Change Analytical Team in Vaccine Research and Development - Early Bioprocess Development group. The successful candidate will execute a variety of analytical techniques to characterize DNA template, mRNA drug substance, LNP drug product, and critical reagents to enable strain change activities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various molecular biology techniques and work collaboratively within the analytical team as well as outside the reporting structure to design and execute experiments, analyze data, and provide accurate and timely reports.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Execute analytical protocols for release and characterization of DNA template, mRNA drug substance, LNP drug product, and critical reagents to support viral vaccine strain change.
  • Analyze data obtained with minimal supervision
  • Document experiments contemporaneously in an electronic or notebook as directed and provide to supervisor or designee for review
  • Contribute to authoring technical documents including development reports, analytical test methods, and method qualification reports
  • Maintain laboratory instruments according to applicable guidelines and ordering frequently used reagents and materials
  • Read scientific and technical literature to stay current in the field and to bring new and improved technologies to the laboratory.


Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, biology, or related discipline with 2 years of experience
  • A strong background in molecular biology is essential
  • Proficiency with personal computers including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently in hands-on laboratory setting and collaborate as part of a team


Nice-to-Have

  • Previous experience with fragment analyzer for mRNA integrity is desired
  • Experience with ddPCR is a plus
  • Experience with documentation of laboratory notebook in an electronic format is desired
