The Automotive Systems Technology curriculum at FTCC prepares individuals who are passionate about cars for a career that is both technical and rewarding. As new makes and models continue to hit the market so does the need for qualified technicians to repair and maintain these new technologies, parts, and intricate systems. Qualified applicants should have the ability to pass along the knowledge and passion to students and set them on the path to a successful automotive career!
Qualified candidates will possess excellent computer skills, demonstrate evidence of flexible work experiences and a willingness to change; be open-minded, fair, and possess the ability to see multiple perspectives; be willing to take and manage risks and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.
Provide quality automotive course instruction for day, evening, and weekend face-to-face and online classes related to diagnosis and/or repair of all mechanical, electrical, and on-board computer systems.

Duties
- Assist in program recruitment.
- Advise and register students who are in the program.
- Monitor and improve student retention.
- Maintain class records.
- Incorporate latest instructional technologies in course delivery and utilize interactive learning technologies to engage students in the teaching and learning process.
- Assist in the design and update of course syllabi, curriculum review, revision and development.
- Maintain a safe, clean and efficient laboratory environment.
- Provide quality customer service to students, faculty and staff.
- Continually develop and improve skills through professional development.
- Participate in faculty committees and other activities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Automotive Technology, A.S.E. Certification, and a minimum of three years work experience in automotive service.
- Communication, both oral and written, skills are necessary. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
- Extensive experience, well documented in the application packet, may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
Preferred Requirements
- Ford MLR Training Certification or willingness to enroll in Ford MLR courses to receive certification.
- Teaching experience at the community college or four-year college. On-line teaching experience.
