Description:

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for a full-time (100%) Lecturer to begin August 1, 2023. This is a non-tenure-track postdoctoral position and may be renewable for up to three years, contingent upon the Department's staffing needs, support from the College, and evidence of excellent teaching. The position comes with University benefits. The teaching load is 4-4. This is a teaching appointment, and whomever is hired will not be expected to publish while holding this position. Course assignments will depend on departmental needs, but may include such courses as Introduction to Philosophy , Critical Thinking , Professional Responsibility , or Contemporary Moral Problems

Qualifications:

Position requires demonstrated excellence in teaching and a PhD in Philosophy at the time of appointment. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time of appointment and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.
