Job Description:
The Associate Dean of Instruction & Learning/Pre-Collegiate Programs is a 12-month Management Confidential position, reporting directly to the Vice President for Instruction & Learning. The Associate Dean will work with the Vice President and other Associate Deans to implement and evolve the shared vision for the Division of Instruction & Learning, in line with the mission and philosophy of Dutchess Community College, its constituencies, and the community. The position offers the opportunity to exert a meaningful influence on education at Dutchess Community College. Specifically, the Associate Dean of Instruction & Learning/Pre-Collegiate Programs will have the opportunity to contribute and actively engage in strategies aimed at advancing diversity, equity, and social justice in education. These strategies should meet the literacy and enrichment needs of youths and adults, build capacity for expanding academic and career access and success, while creating paths for students to earn stackable credentials.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $110,000.00.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee several areas reporting to the Office of Instruction & Learning, including but not limited to:
- Credit-Free HSE and ESL Programs
- DCC@FPC
- College Connection Program
- The Music Academy
- Grant-funded Initiatives and Programs
- Create and maintain a comprehensive portfolio of offerings that serve K-12 students (College for Kids) by improving literacy, supporting readiness for post-secondary learning, and fostering a college-going culture, especially across communities that are underrepresented in higher education and in-demand careers.
- Work closely with the Transitions Coordinator to connect HSE and ESL students to additional educational and career pathways.
- Partner with Dutchess County Workforce Investment Board and other community enterprises to offer adult basic education, literacy, and workforce training.
- Promote better integration and pathways for adult learning to are re-tooling to enter or advance in a new economy.
- Partner with regional and national enterprises (e.g., Skills USA, Today's Students Tomorrow's Teachers, Future City, Build Your Future, First LEGO League, etc.) to offer academic and recreational after-school programs and summer camps.
- Develop, execute, analyze, and improve the College's strategic target that support service through precollegiate and workforce readiness programming.
- Develop, administer, evaluate, and supervise credit and credit-free academic programs.
- Develop and implement appropriate training modules and programs to sustain a cadre of student employees to staff precollegiate learning programs.
- Collaborate with the offices of Finance & Administration and Grant Development to create funding models and streams to strengthen and sustain program offerings.
- Perform other duties and related work as assigned by the Vice President for Instruction and Learning
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in a related field, doctorate preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in higher education, including successful college teaching and/or progressive administrative experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission of a community college.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communications, and organizational skills.
- A record of leadership and initiative, and of working collaboratively and effectively with diverse persons and interests.
- Demonstrated experience working with a diverse student population and proven understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in a higher education environment.
- The performance of this work is primarily in-person and on-site.
- Flexible hours required; some travel may be necessary.
