TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I/DATA ENGINEER, Biological Engineering, to join the research group of Professor Ernest Fraenkel (http://fraenkel.mit.edu/) and participate in the development of computational and experimental approaches to understanding human biology. Computational integration of multi-omics data enables them to reconstruct signaling pathways and identify previously unrecognized regulatory mechanisms. This integration entails mining, analyses, and modeling of vast repositories of structured and unstructured data within different domains. Will develop and test database solutions and collaborate on the implementation of natural language processing algorithms and other models in the area of multi-omics integration, contribute to the area of human metabolomics, and perform other duties as assigne.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely-related field; two years' computational programming experience; experience with graph and/or other NoSQL database design and engineering; experience working with large datasets, munging, feature engineering, and developing machine learning models, preferably on clinical datasets; experience with natural language processing algorithms or equivalent MOOC certifications, web design, and Docker/Singularity implementation; and proficiency with Python/R/SQL/JavaScript/HTML.
