The College of Nursing is seeking applicants for a 12- month, full-time, acute care Medical-Surgical faculty appointment for its Accelerated BSN program. Both tenure and non-tenure track positions are available. This is an on-site position for the College's Phoenix campus. The candidate must have experience in acute care medical-surgical settings, preferably with critical care experience. Responsibilities include the teaching/supervision of undergraduate students in adult acute care medical-surgical settings, curriculum development. The Assistant Professor will teach courses and seminars for undergraduate and graduate students. Is responsible for advising students. Assistant Professor will also carry out research in their area of study. Serves on University Committees and can choose to participate in other campus-related activities/groups. Must be able to provide evidence of excellent university-level teaching and significant publications. An Assistant Professor teaches 100-level courses. Other faculty responsibilities include those associated with service and scholarship commensurate with the College of Nursing and university expectations.

Candidates must possess at least a master's degree in nursing and 2 years of clinical nursing experience in an adult acute care medical-surgical setting. An earned doctorate or enrollment in a doctoral program is preferred. Ideally, candidates will have experience in classroom and simulation instruction and clinical supervision. Candidates must have a current unencumbered license to practice as an RN in the state of Arizona, or eligibility for licensure.

Qualifications:
  • A Doctorate or Masters degree from an accredited college or university;


  • 2-4 years prior teaching experience;
