What You Will Achieve

The Senior Associate Scientist within Pfizer's Global Toxicology group is part of a highly collaborative team that provides analytical expertise, contributing to the development of new procedures and methodology, stability study designs, troubleshooting problematic analytical and formulation issues, training and harmonization and optimization of best processes. The incumbent will provide analytical support in performing all aspects of the analytical scientist role, contributing to the development of new procedures and methodology, stability study designs, troubleshooting problematic analytical and formulation issues, training and harmonization and optimization of best processes. They will also have working knowledge and ability to operate HPLC.

In addition the incumbent will have current working knowledge of DSRD formulation preparations and will provide support preparing formulations as needed.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Perform, review, and evaluate concentration, homogeneity and stability analyses data on toxicology dosing formulations under GLP conditions in compliance with all GLP regulations, protocol, SOP, policies, method and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrates technical competency in Analytical Chemistry, specifically liquid chromatography, with increasing complexity as experience is gained, with an understanding of the purpose of supported Global Toxicology studies.
  • The individual should also be proficient with a wide-variety of software and information systems, in particular eLN and Empower.
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and leaders as part of a multi-disciplinary team, thrive in a fast-paced environment and model respectful interactions with others.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrate competency in preparing formulation used for toxicology studies and required to flex into the formulation technician role up to 30% as needed.


Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of experience or Master's Degree with 0-2 years of experience with a concentration in Chemistry.
  • Industrial experience in a GxP lab environment.
  • Ability to meet project milestones under general supervision, manage expectations for specific projects, ensure delivery of compliant data and documents.
  • Experience with HPLC
  • GLP experience
  • Experience formulating for toxicology studies
  • Experience in problem-solving skills and instrument trouble-shooting.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, especially adherence to laboratory notebook practices.
  • Experience with a wide-variety of software and information systems (e.g. electronic lab notebooks and Empower)
