Position Summary The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Public Health seeks a full-time Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Health Promotion, with expertise and background in Maternal and Child Health (MCH). As a part of this position, the candidate will have the opportunity to build a more robust MCH portfolio within the well-established degree programs. This position will play a central role in the Department's Master of Public Health and Professional Certificate programs in MCH. Required Qualifications Candidates should hold an earned doctoral degree (i.e. PhD, DrPH, ScD) in maternal and child health, family and reproductive health, or another relevant public health field; family science; demography; human development; epidemiology; or related social science discipline. Substantial public health training and research experience or an M.P.H. degree are essential if the highest degree is not in public health.
Additionally, qualified candidates have:
Demonstrated excellence in research, scholarship, and/or service that contributes to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
A history of scholarship, publications, and invited lectures demonstrating a commitment to health equity and maternal and child health OR maternal and child health populations. (i.e., national reputation).
Previous experiences that prepare them to lead an externally- funded program in MCH.
Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver both in-person and online graduate courses. The candidate should have experiences that prepare them to teach and mentor graduate students. Supplemental Qualifications Demonstrated vision for what is needed nationally for achieving equity in MCH outcomes and attracting, inspiring, and educating students and trainees.
A strong and current record of extramural funding through grants and contracts.
Experience or interaction with MCH programs at other academic institutions.
