Assistant/Associate Professor of Oral Health Promotion, Division of Community and Preventive Dentistry
Creighton University School of Dentistry is seeking a motivated individual to support the didactic and clinical curricula of the school including patient services through the school's pre-doctoral clinic model and public health initiatives and affiliations including those with an interprofessional focus. The 12-month position will work with a team of dedicated faculty who are building on a rich legacy of excellence in dental education and expanding our capacity as a national resource in the dental profession. Responsibilities include supporting the delivery of the curriculum notably in the preclinical courses.
The position will be required to teach assigned courses in the division, provide strategic vision and direction for the department and support public health service lines as necessary. Experience in successful grant writing is preferred but not a pre-requisite. Candidates must also possess strong organizational and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a collegial, interdisciplinary environment.
Primary appointment will be in the Department of Oral Health Promotion, Division of Community and Preventive Dentistry. Qualified candidates should have a public health background (which could include Post-graduate training in an Advanced General Dentistry program) and preferably a master's in public health and/or similar such as Public Administration. Candidates must have a DDS or DMD degree, or equivalent degree from an international program along with completion of an ADA accredited clinical specialty program and successful completion of Part I and Part II of the National Board Dental Examination or Integrated National Board Examination, prior to the date of hire.
Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Nebraska and acquire credentialing from applicable third-party payer systems. General dentists are encouraged to apply. Candidates must also possess strong organizational and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a collegial, interdisciplinary environment. This is a tenure -track position.
