Position Summary Academic Radiation OncologistThe Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE is actively recruiting a Radiation Oncologist to focus on neuro-oncology while contributing to the care of thoracic oncology patients. Our vision is to be the leader in multidisciplinary patient care by employing advanced technology and innovative treatment techniques. Parallel to the development of the clinical program, we are placing an emphasis on the continued expansion of our research programs.With this opportunity you will find:· Fully accredited medical and medical physics residency programs· Regular multidisciplinary, disease specific neuro and thoracic oncology tumor boards· Emphasis on work life balance, favorable call schedules· Potential for protected research time· Growing array of internal and external grant funding· A culture of respect, support and professional growthWe have excellent treatment facilities, technology, physics and dosimetry support and are actively exploring advanced technology to support the growing neuro and pediatric oncology programs. The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated cancer center in Nebraska. Our growing faculty includes seven physicians, nine physicists and three research faculty dedicated to education at all levels from health professions students, post-graduate residency programs and continuing medical education.The successful candidate must be an MD/DO (or equivalent degree) who is board certified/eligible in radiation oncology.
