Position Summary
Join our Dermatology team at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) Department of Dermatology in Omaha, Nebraska.

The successful Director of Research candidate will be a MD, MD/PhD or PhD. Candidates should have an established track record of published articles relating to dermatology as well as a record of extramural funding. Preferential qualifications would also include senior level faculty with at least 5-7 years of experience. The primary responsibility is to provide leadership and strategic vision in research for the Department of Dermatology as well as mentorship of junior faculty and learners across the educational spectrum. The Director of Research will be also be responsible for proposing and refining priorities for the Department and annual budgeting of the Departmental Research Endowment Funds. Current strategic areas of focus in the department research include skin cancer & prevention, transplant dermatology, inpatient dermatology, emerging infectious diseases, rural dermatology/access to care, AI, teledermatology, and clinical trials/outcomes. Incumbent will be responsible for building infrastructure, which includes the development of operating procedures. These operating procedures may include IRB creation, submission, and compliance; investigational device exemption creation, submission, and compliance; Principal Investigator support with protocol development and/or modification; clinical subject management' contract negotiation with sponsors in coordination with Department Administrator and Administrative Business Associate; and ensuring all federal and state regulations are followed completely.

UNMC is a premier academic medical center located in Omaha, NE with newly built research and clinical space. Total campus research space is approximately 1 million square feet. Active training programs exist in basic and clinical sciences.
