Position Summary The Department of Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) invites application for a board certified cytopathologist who enjoys teaching, interactions with clinicians and cytotechnologists, and is adept at rapid on site evaluation using telecytology. We are a subspecialized group of 20 Anatomic Pathologists with most faculty covering one service line, but some covering two service lines. If the candidate has additional expertise (or interest) in lung, ENT, cardiovascular pathology, forensics, or another AP service that would be ideal. In addition to our University Hospital based services, we have a large outreach program and receive over half of our cases from surrounding areas, leading to a diverse specimen mix. Rank will be based on experience and qualifications - we welcome anyone from asst to full professor and individuals from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. - M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree
- Fellowship training in cytopathology or another anatomic pathology (AP) sub-speciality
- Board certified/board eligible in anatomic pathology (AP), or both AP and clinical pathology (CP)
- Eligible for unrestricted Nebraska medical license
- Experience in cytopathology service.
- Experience in medical student, pathology resident and or pathology subspecialty fellow training.
- Demonstrate an interest or expertise in research and/or scholarly activity.
- Broad-based experience in laboratory management.
