Colby Community College is located in northwest Kansas, approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska and Colorado borders. From a humble beginning of 99 students in 1964, CCC now serves more than 2,400 students annually.

In addition to a 57-acre main campus, a 60-acre farm is used as a hands-on laboratory and training facility. The college also accommodates hundreds of off-campus students through face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available to join a progressive agriculture department in northwest Kansas at Colby Community College as an Agronomy Instructor. This is a full-time, nine-month position that begins no later than August 2023. The successful candidate will develop a strong agronomy program to meet the demands of ever-changing agriculture industry and equip current and future students to meet these demands. The candidate will be tasked with student advising, course development, and instructing students (in the classroom, laboratory, and small group settings) on the basic study of Agronomy, including crop production science and soil science, to meet the requirements of an Associate of Science and/or transfer program.

  • Commercial, small-scale, and organic agriculture practices concerning crop productivity and soil management

SALARY

$39,000 or higher, depending on credentials and experience.

Qualifications
  • A master's degree in agronomy or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 hours in agronomy is required.
  • Postsecondary teaching experience preferred.
