GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Pay range from $59,618 to $95,199 (based on years of teaching experience per the Faculty CBA)

Teaches assigned college course work as defined by North Central Michigan College and assigned by the Dean of Occupational Programs. Provides a safe classroom and/or field experience-learning environment and assists students in meeting requirements and understanding course material. Conducts self in a professional manner promoting diplomacy with students, educational agencies, and other faculty and staff. Engages in individual student and educational program development, accessibility and coordinates with other college departments including Student Services as needed to foster student success. In addition, the candidate will serve as the content expert while collaborating with other faculty on curriculum development and improvement within the college's computer science program.

Teaches assigned college course work as defined by North Central Michigan College and assigned by the Dean of Occupational Programs. - Teaches 15 contact hours per semester. Assignment may include day and evening as well as off-campus courses.
- Holds six (6) regular office hours per week.
- Participates in college service in the areas of curriculum development, instructional improvement and assessment of student learning outcomes.
- Participates in College governance structure through committee service.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in Computer Information Systems (or related field), or equivalent combination of related experience and education.
- Two (2) years of work experience in CIS or closely related field.
- Evidence of teaching competence in programming logic.
- Ability to teach web application development, mobile application development, and database administration utilizing current and emerging technologies, including open-source languages and platforms.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory, to include pedagogical and assessment techniques appropriate to the content area.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the community college mission.
- Recent experience teaching in a CIS program in a community college setting.
- Ability to contribute curricular leadership in areas of web application development, mobile application development, and database administration.
- Ability to teach IT risk management, network security, and information assurance.
- Ability to teach courses in the area of new media and communication technologies, specifically new and emerging social media tools and web apps.
- Ability to support instruction in digital animation, video editing, graphics and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
- Demonstrated interest in seeking out new and emerging tools, technologies, and methodologies to incorporate in the classroom.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and involvement in professional organizations.
- Familiarity with institutional effectiveness planning and retention issues within a community college environment.
